What makes the Globe Theatre distinctive
The Globe Theatre combines an octagonal design with a replica of Shakespeare’s Globe stage. Odessa College describes it as a venue for student and community productions, concerts, and special events.
The idea for a Shakespearean theatre in Odessa began in 1948, in Marjorie Morris’s senior English class at Odessa High School. Groundbreaking ceremonies took place on March 7, 1958; the main structure was completed in 1961, and the theatre was dedicated in May 1964.
Inside, the Elizabethan thrust-style stage projects into the seating area. The theatre also has a small orchestra pit for roughly 7–8 musicians, four private dressing rooms, and two group dressing rooms. An adjacent replica of Ann Hathaway’s house contains a Shakespearean library, archives, and a small performance area.
Odessa College’s Theatre Program presents an annual season of student and community productions at the Globe. Full audio and lighting capabilities support the venue’s varied programming.

How can you check the season and get Odessa theatre tickets?
Odessa College’s Theatre Program presents an annual season, but the Globe’s official pages do not give general public opening days or regular box-office hours. Check the official site before you go: Odessa College is the source for the venue and Theatre Program information.
Ticket prices and sales arrangements can depend on the production. The venue pages do not state standard ticket prices or a general refund policy, so check the details for the performance you plan to attend before buying. For an Odessa Shakespeare Festival performance, consult the festival’s own current listings for its ticket information.
If you’re arranging a fuller visit around a show, the one-day Odessa itinerary can help you think about how to fit other city stops into the day.
Planning arrival and the performance night
Plan around the performance details rather than assuming the venue keeps regular public hours. Confirm the show’s start time, ticket arrangements, and any event-specific parking guidance with its organizer before setting out.
Odessa College says the Globe’s lobby, floor seating, and restrooms are accessible to people with disabilities. Both the men’s and women’s restrooms are ADA compliant. If you need details about access for a particular performance, contact the organizer when arranging tickets.
Parking information can also vary by event. Check the instructions for your performance rather than assuming that parking arrangements announced for one production apply to every show.
